OM-D EM10 Mark II Continuous Autofocus Experiences
1
As usual I would like to use valuable experience of forum members to speed up learning curve with my new camers.
Now the questions are gathering around continuous autofocus. I knew in advance that is not the best feature of this camera, and now I am trying to see how to make best use of what is available.
Some of the first experiences are not so encouraging, I wasn't able to catch some moving subjects at all, though review shows focus point laying on subject, but, of course, there could be some better ways to do things that I am doing it now.
Here are some questions the came so far:
- I already discovered that using small AF point is not so good idea, now I am trying to determine is it better to use normal AF or 9-points AF group, while that possibly also depends on size of subject relative to frame.
- It is seemingly better to use C-AF than C-AF with tracking. I've found out that high speed sequential shooting won't work with C-AF, now I'm trying to determine will silent low sequential do any harm to C-AF compared to simple low sequential.
- I set frame refresh rate to higher, some say that is actually slows down C-AF
- Some also say that is't better to use ordinary S-AF, and completely abandon C-AF, as S-AF is pretty fast and can give enough keepers even in shooting action.
Any other suggestion is appreciated.
